Al Drago/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesThe Biden administration issued a final rule on Tuesday that cracks down on the investment advice that advisors, brokers, insurance agents and others give to retirement savers. The final rule takes effect on Sept. 23. Current retirement rules don't provide adequate protections to savers, Labor Department officials said during a press call Tuesday. Such a dynamic can "chip away" at Americans' savings, Gomez said. The amount of 401(k)-to-IRA rollovers is 'astronomical'The final rule doesn't differ significantly from the Biden administration's initial proposal, Labor officials said.

"Everybody looks to United as the bellwether of all of health-care services. This will be different," said Lisa Gill, managing director and health care analyst at JPMorgan. The data breach at the Change Healthcare unit forced the firm to take down its massive billing and payment processing service. While the company has restored services for pharmacies, the outage has continued to disrupt operations for health-care providers across the country. Larger providers, such as home infusion services firm Option Care Health , have also warned that the outage could impact their quarterly results.

Here are five types of foods that doctors and nutritionists eat every day for stellar brain health, heart health, longevity and overall wellness. Blueberries, in particular, are what longevity researcher, Neil Paulvin, refers to as the "holy grail" of longevity foods. They're also great for eye health, muscle recovery, brain health and strengthening your cells, he adds. All berries get their color from flavonoids which are a group of phytonutrients that have been linked to improvements in brain health and a reduction in cognitive decline. They're high in protein, fiber, antioxidants and minerals like magnesium and iron, Heller told CNBC Make It in 2022.

A boomer Uber driver's business had over $100,000 in earnings but only $20,000 in profits. But after Uber took its cut and his driving expenses were accounted for, his profits fell to about $20,000. The $44,000 deduction was an estimate for tax purposes, so it's possible his true vehicle expenses weren't quite that high. AdvertisementThat said, commissions and driving expenses took a significant cut out of his business's profitability. His first year driving Uber, 2016, was more eventful than he anticipated: He got caught in Hurricane Matthew while driving in Norfolk, Virginia.

For entertainment expenses like travel and eating out, however, he planned to use income from a part-time job and draw on his Social Security benefits. But there was one challenge with this plan: If Americans draw on Social Security before their full retirement age, then there's a limit to how high their taxable income can be before their Social Security benefits take a hit. The Social Security Administration says it will deduce $1 from benefit payments for every $2 one earns above the annual limit, which is $22,320 in 2024. "Because the driver can deduct his mileage from his side gig income and make below the earnings limit, his Social Security income will not be reduced," she said. "Many retirees often begin working side gigs, do freelance work, or receive other retirement income without knowing how other streams of income can impact how their Social Security income is taxed," she said.

Consumers started spending more on high-quality spirits during the pandemic shutdowns, which spurred a rise in premium beverage products, said Erlinda A. Doherty, an agave spirits expert and consultant. Both are proprietary spirits under Mexican laws, which are recognized in U.S. trade agreements. While he didn’t comment specifically on California’s foray into agave spirits, he said he believes Mexico can respond to the growing demand. The state legislature enacted a law last year requiring “California agave spirits” be made solely with plants grown in the state and without additives. He said those making agave spirits have a deep appreciation for Mexican tequila.

There's also SunnyD Vodka Seltzer, made by Harvest Hill Beverage Company and on shelves since March, as well as Hard Mountain Dew, which is made by PepsiCo and the Boston Beer Company. Harvest Hill, which makes SunnyD Vodka Seltzer, pointed to the words "Vodka" and "contains alcohol" on its packaging for the beverage. Drinks like Hard Mountain Dew and SunnyD Vodka Seltzer have drawn criticism from consumer advocacy groups and public health experts for years. Sugary and fruity alcoholic beverages, such as White Claw hard seltzer, began to gain popularity at the end of the last decade. Besides potentially causing confusion, the beverages' sweet tastes make it easy to down one — or several — compared to traditional alcoholic beverages like beer.

The regional health insurance provider will still retain CVS Caremark for managing specialty drugs, which are costly medications used to treat complex conditions like cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. Other analysts highlighted difficulties in shifting to a different model than the one offered by companies like CVS - which provide other services including home drug delivery and reimburse pharmacies for patients' prescriptions. Amazon Pharmacy will provide at-home delivery of prescription drugs as well as upfront pricing, while Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company will provide access to generic drugs, Blue Shield said. Here's a deeper look at the headlines and their implications for our investment theses in these two health-care companies. The Club's take: The first-of-their-kind FDA and CMS actions came in generally as anticipated, and represent incremental positives for Eli Lilly. That's why some of the decline seen Friday in Eli Lilly shares – down over 2%, to around $453 each – could simply represent a sell-the-news situation.
